ClayPot.com was born out of a desire to find more resources, recipes and product availability for claypots. As you can tell by your searching, it is very hard to find a site dedicated to claypot cooking. While we are still very young in terms of providing informational resources in the USA, the Romertopf Germany site - www.Roemertopf.de - has been operational for quite some time now. The downside of this site, if you're not bilingual, is that it is in German.
Romertopf USA products are manufactured in Mexico and distributed in the USA by Reco International - www.Reco.com. You might also recognize Reco International by the brand name Nature's Oven.
We are striving to provide a full-service site that contains information on claypot usage, cleaning, recipes and tips/tools to make wonderfully delicious meals. We are also dedicated to looking at ways to use the claypot to create nutritionally rich meals that are lower in calorie. Using the claypot can make a big difference in caloric and fat content because many of the recipes can be prepared without oils or butter.
We also want to be your information resource. Anything that we can do to make this site more appealing, useful and fun for you is what we're striving for. The products and accessories we have are limited in scope to the Romertopf line, however, we will be looking at other claypots and accessories that we can provide at an attractive price point for you.
