There are many different techniques for producing great bread in a claypot and the results are just like baking in a bakers hearth.

Baking bread in a claypot offers many of the same benefits of other types of claypot cooking. You control the ingredients, so you can make a healthier bread than what you can buy at your local supermarket or health food chain. Since there is no shelf life you do not need to add preservatives. No artificial colors or flavors...unless you want them. Nothing beats fresh from the oven warm bread, or the lasting aroma that fills your home. Once you've tried baking your own bread in a claypot you won't want to buy your bread anymore.

The types of bread you can bake in your claypot are endless. There are bread recipes everywhere and they can be easily adapted to baking in a claypot. A good trick to get started in baking your own bread is to buy a "premixed" bread in a box usually sold for bread machines from campanies like Krusteaz. By making the adjustments below you can easily make many different kinds of bread.
